Soul of Rome: Five Emperors — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ObedientAmbition, Unipessoal LDA ("ObedientAmbition", "we", "us", or "our"), operating as Lagosta Games, handles information when you use Soul of Rome: Five Emperors (the "App"), published on Google Play under package ID com.lagostaventures.imperator.

1. Who we are

The data controller responsible for personal data described in this policy is:

2. Information processed when you play

Game data stored on your device

Soul of Rome stores information locally on your device so it can save and resume the game. This may include current and completed runs, game choices, settings, unlocked entries and achievements, Legacy progress, historical chapter access, and a locally cached record of your full-game entitlement. We do not receive this local gameplay data on our own servers.

Google Play purchase information

Google processes payment for the optional one-time full-game unlock through Google Play. The App receives product, purchase, transaction, and entitlement information needed to complete the purchase, acknowledge it, restore access, and cache ownership for offline play. We do not receive your payment-card or bank-account details.

Information you send us

If you contact us for support or feedback, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, and any screenshots, diagnostic details, or attachments you include.

Advertising

The App displays full-screen interstitial advertising, supplied by Google AdMob. To serve, measure, and prevent fraud in advertising, AdMob may process your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID), IP address, coarse location derived from it, device and operating-system characteristics, and information about ad interactions such as impressions and clicks. This processing is carried out by Google as an independent controller under its own privacy policy.

Buying the one-time full-game unlock removes advertising from the App. Once the entitlement is active, the App stops requesting and displaying ads.

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we ask for your consent before personalised advertising is used, through a Google-certified consent form shown when you first play. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time from the App's privacy or consent settings. If you decline, you may still see non-personalised advertising, which relies on limited data such as coarse location and the current app context rather than a profile built about you.

You can also limit ad tracking at the device level: on Android, Settings → Privacy → Ads lets you delete or reset the advertising identifier and opt out of ad personalisation. Google's own controls are available at My Ad Center.

No account or app analytics

The App does not require an ObedientAmbition account or login and does not include an app-analytics SDK. Beyond what the advertising described above involves, we do not use the App to collect precise location, contacts, photos, camera recordings, microphone recordings, health data, or the contents of other apps.

3. How information is used

Information is processed only as needed to:

• operate the App and save settings and gameplay on your device;
• process, acknowledge, verify, and restore the full-game purchase;
• display advertising to players who have not bought the full-game unlock, and to measure and secure that advertising;
• respond to support requests and feedback;
• diagnose a problem when you voluntarily send us relevant details; and
• comply with legal obligations and protect our legal rights.

4. Legal bases for processing

Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or similar laws apply, processing may rely on:

• Contract: providing the App and the content you purchase.
• Consent: personalised advertising and any storage of or access to information on your device that requires consent, plus optional information you choose to provide. You may withdraw consent at any time.
• Legitimate interests: supporting players, securing the App, showing non-personalised advertising to fund the free portion of the game, measuring advertising delivery, preventing ad fraud, and resolving technical or legal issues.
• Legal obligation: meeting applicable consumer-protection, accounting, tax, and law-enforcement requirements.

5. Third-party services

The App relies on Google Play and Google Play Billing for distribution and the optional full-game purchase, and on Google AdMob for advertising shown to players who have not bought the unlock. Google processes information under its own terms and privacy policy, acting as an independent controller for advertising. See Google's Privacy Policy and the Google Play Terms of Service.

The App does not send gameplay saves to ObedientAmbition or to a cloud-save provider.

6. When information is shared

We do not sell personal data. Information may be disclosed to Google for App distribution, purchase processing, and the delivery, measurement, and security of advertising; to professional advisers and service providers working under appropriate obligations; to authorities where legally required; or in connection with a merger, financing, reorganisation, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to applicable law.

7. Your choices and controls

• You can play without creating an account.
• You can change or withdraw your advertising consent at any time from the App's privacy or consent settings.
• You can reset or delete your advertising identifier, and opt out of ad personalisation, in your device settings.
• You can remove advertising entirely by buying the one-time full-game unlock.
• You can use the App's reset controls or remove the App to delete locally stored gameplay data. Uninstalling may not delete purchase records held by Google.
• You can use Restore Purchase in the App to refresh an eligible full-game entitlement from Google Play.
• You can contact us to exercise rights concerning support correspondence or other personal data we control.

8. Data retention

Local gameplay data remains on your device until you reset it or remove the App. Google retains purchase records under its own policies, and the App may refresh your entitlement from Google Play. Support correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.

9. Your data protection rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, withdraw consent, and receive data in a portable format. You may also complain to a supervisory authority. In Portugal, this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).

Contact us to exercise rights concerning information we control. For purchase or account information controlled directly by Google, you may also need to use Google's privacy controls or support channels. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

10. Children

Soul of Rome is not directed to children. It does not require a player account or date of birth, and we do not knowingly ask children to submit personal information directly to us. The App is not enrolled in Google Play's Designed for Families programme, and its advertising is configured for a general, non-child audience. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent personal information to us may contact us to request its deletion.

11. International transfers

Google and other recipients may process information in countries outside your own. Where required, transfers are protected by recognised safeguards such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or other lawful mechanisms.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information and risks involved. No device, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, its service providers, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy on this page and update the date above. If a future release adds analytics, accounts, cloud saves, or other data practices, this policy will be updated before that release.
